OUR PATIENTS

PRIVATE PATIENTS

We treat patients with or without private health insurance. If you do have private health insurance, we offer Hicaps facilities which allow you to claim your treatment costs at the time of your visit so you will only need to pay the gap on the day. All our physiotherapists at Main Road West Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Centre are preferred providers with many major health funds including Medibank Private, HBA, MBF and Australian Unity. This will give you a higher rebate from your health fund for physiotherapy treatment. We also have EFTPOS facilities and we do not charge any surcharge for credit card usage.

We also offer discounts for health care card holders, full time students, pensioners and certain sporting club players.

WORKCOVER & TAC PATIENTS

We treat any compensable patients on Workcover or TAC. To qualify for treatment, you must have a referral from your medical practitioner (GP) or specialist and a valid claim number. If you do know your employer’s insurance company (e.g. CGU, QBE, Allianz, Gallagher Bassett, GIO) and your case manager’s name and number, please bring that information along too to make processing a lot more quickly.

DVA PATIENTS

We treat DVA patients. All you need to bring is a medical practitioner’s referral and your DVA number.

MEDICARE PATIENTS

From the 1st July 2004, the federal government made it possible for qualifying patients to receive a Medicare rebate for physiotherapy as a part of the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) programme.

If eligible, patients need to be placed on a community care plan by a general practitioner and a specific referral form must be completed and given to the physiotherapist.

Patients that qualify include:

  • Those with chronic conditions (present for 6 months or greater)

  • Those with multiple or complex conditions

  • Frail and dependent patients

  • Those with unstable or deteriorating health

  • Patients hospitalized more than twice in the past year.

Patients will be entitled to 5 sessions of physiotherapy per calendar year where there will be no ‘out of pocket’ expense. Please bring in your Medicare card as well as your EPC referral form so treatments can be bulk billed. For most chronic conditions, ongoing physiotherapy may be required. Your physiotherapist will discuss with you the advantages of regular ongoing treatment to help improve your quality of life.
